On the early morning of 6th May 1941 a German Bomber on its way back from a bombing mission in Greenock shed its final two parachute mines over Paisley.
The first bomb landed in Newton Street killing two auxiliary firemen.
The second mine made a direct hit on the Woodside First Aid Post. In all 92 people died in the First Aid Post including Doctors, Nurses, Ministers, Drivers, and other assistants at the Post. There were just 6 survivors.
