Paisley is a great base from which to explore  not only Paisley and Renfrewshire but also the rest of Scotland.

With the centre of Paisley only minutes away from Glasgow International Airport and with numerous hotels in and around Paisley it makes perfect sense to have Paisley as the ideal base for trips further afield to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and the Highlands to take in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and savour the history of the country.

Culzean Castle & Country Park: Maybole, Ayrshire. KA19 8LE

There’s something for everyone at Culzean Castle & Country Park. From a tour of the Castle to the Adventure Playground or a stroll in the extensive countryside walks, the day is not long enough to enjoy all that Culzean has to offer.

Falkirk Wheel: Lime Road, Tamfourhill, Falkirk. FK1 4RS

The Falkirk Wheel was a unique method of connecting two Canals, the Forth & Clyde Canal and the Union Canal, as part of the Millenium Project.. Previously these two Canals had been connected by  a series of 11 locks over a 1.5km stretch which had been dismantled in the 1930’s.

Visitors can enjoy a boat ride on the wheel and along a stretch of the Canal before returning back to the visitor centre.

Theme Park next to Strathclyde Country Park. It has rides for all ages as well as Amusements, Ten-Pin Bowling and an 18 Hole Adventure Golf.

Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park

Only 30 minutes from Paisley, Loch Lomond is the largest freshwater Loch in Scotland.

There are regular boat trips on the water and many Hotels and restaurants around the Loch.

Glasgow Science Centre: 50 Pacific Quay, Glasgow. G51 1EA

Glasgow Science Centre is home to hundreds of interactive science exhibits for a fun filled day out for kids of all ages.

It also houses Scotland’s only Imax Cinema.

Kelburn Country Park: Fairlie, Ayrshire . KA29 0BE

Kelburn Country Park just outside Largs is fun for all the family. There is Pony Trekking, Bird Shows and a fantastic secret garden to explore.

For a small additional charge you can take a conducted tour of the Castle and  Learn all about the Boyle family.

Largs: Ayrshire

Largs is a well known day trip and holiday destination in the West of Scotland. Famous for it’s Nardini’s Restaurant and Vikingar Festival. It has a long promenade, perfect for long walks in the evening, and numerous pubs for that vital refreshment.
